How To Prevent Acne From Occurring or Reappearing!

Acne is simply the inflammation of your skin due to various environmental factors like oil, dirt, pollution, heat etc and sometimes due to our lifestyle and food habits. The sequence for acne is pretty simple: OIL BUILDUP - PORES BLOCKED - BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH - ACNE AND PIMPLE.

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure, so it is advisable to take steps to prevent those unwanted pimples coming up on your skin rather than fighting to get rid of them once they are there. Wondering if is ever possible to prevent acne? Yes! Indeed it is! With certain changes in your diet, way of living and avoidances of certain conditions you can very well prevent the growth of those unwanted devils. Let us discuss how we can prevent such break-outs.

1. Oil is the major reason for acne breakouts. If you have an oily skin or if you let oil secreted by the pores stay on the surface of your skin for quite a long time then the skin pores might or in fact will get blocked. When the pores are blocked, there is a great chance for bacterial overgrowth resulting in acne.

Dirt and pollutants also stick easily to the surface of an oily skin resulting in eruptions and inflammation. So, keeping an oil-free skin is vital. Make sure to wash your face with an oil-control face wash twice daily to ensure that your skin is clean and clear and free of any clogging. By following this simple step you can eliminate the chances of getting acne by more than 50%

2. Drink lots of water as it would help flush the toxins that build up in your blood. When the level of toxins in your blood is low, then the chances of getting pimples would also be less. It is advisable to drink at least 2 litres of water a day to prevent acne.

3. Try to develop and maintain a healthy and regular bowel habit. Take fibre if you are constipated. A regular bowel movement will ensure a clean and clear skin.

4. Follow a good eating regimen. Make sure you avoid too much fat in your diet. An increased fat intake will result in increased oil-secretion by the pores and therefore it would be tougher to control pore clogging, resulting in greater chances of having pimples. Try to avoid red meat, oily fish and spices. Increase intake of green vegetables and raw food in your diet.

The above fours steps would ensure almost complete elimination and prevention of acne for almost anyone. If your acne is still persistent, it is advisable to consult a good dermatologist who might prescribe you antibiotics for local application. Antibiotics would ensure that your skin is bacteria-free which would further ensure that your skin is pimple free.
