Make sure to put moisturizer on your skin every day. A lot of people who have acne will skip the moisturizer because they are afraid that this is going to make their skin more oily. However, if you do not give your skin some moisture it is actually going to make more oil in order to try and moisturize itself. If you use an oil free cream you should have no problems with making your skin oilier. You should also make sure that the moisturizer comes with an SPF number to, to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.
Something else you should use as part of your skin care routine is a facial mask. You should probably give your skin this treatment at least once or twice each week. Make sure to get masks that have drying properties and are also designed especially for treatment of acne.
You should also consider using some sort of benzoyl peroxide cream to add to your acne routine. You can get these at any store that sells cosmetics and they can be bought over the counter. You should only put these creams on the areas that are affected by the acne and nowhere else on your face.
If your acne is extremely bad you should set up an appointment with a dermatologist. They will be able to figure out better what kinds of medications that you might need to have prescribed for you in order to fight your acne. They will probably start you with something that goes on the skin that has a lot of Retin-A in it. If their topical treatments don't work they will probably then put you on oral antibiotics to see if that will do the trick.
Make sure that you also try to include a healthy diet with your skin care routine. The healthier your diet the healthier you will be and the easier your skin will have it to fight off the acne. Make sure that your foods include plenty of vitamin E and zinc. Both of these are extremely healthy for your skin.
